Redd: Difference between revisions

Redd returns to the peddler business in ''[[Animal Crossing: New Leaf]]''. He sets up his shop, Redd's Gallery, in the plaza on a random day of the week. He specializes in the art department, selling only paintings and the newly added statues. Unlike statues, some paintings are always genuine, but most are likely fakes. However, fakes now have noticeable aesthetic differences from the real thing, so they are not based on luck. Fake versions of normal items are a separate collectible. His shop operates on a "one per day" policy, where he only allows customers to purchase one item per day. To prevent loopholes, any item purchased from Redd's Gallery in one town counts in all others, thus ensuring that only one player can buy one item from him each day. He also sends purchases to the player's [[mailbox]] the next day, rather than making purchases directly to the player (marking an acquired piece of art with a special note). He also appears on [[New Year's Eve]] and the Fireworks Show in the plaza, where he sells hats for 300 bells on the former and fortune cookies for 500 bells on the latter.

Although initially absent in ''[[Animal Crossing: New Horizons]]'', Redd, now referred to as "Jolly Redd," was added in the 1.2.0 update with the [[Museum (Animal Crossing franchise)|museum]] art gallery. After the player has donated at least 60 items to the museum, Redd docks on the [[player]]'s island in a small boat called [[Jolly Redd's Treasure Trawler]] on the small "secret" beach on the northern shore of the island. Redd once again sells artwork of dubious origin, along with other items.

Redd is featured as a trophy and as a spectator in [[Smashville]] in ''[[Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS]]'' and ''[[Super Smash Bros. for Wii U]]''. In the the former game, the trophy has to be unlocked first by collecting 150 or more unique trophies.

Redd is one of the [[Spirit (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)|spirits]] in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Ultimate]]'', specifically a [[support spirit]].
