'''Kazooie''' (カズーイ Kazūi) is an orange [[breegull]] and the main adventuring companion of [[Banjo]] in the [[Banjo-Kazooie (series)|''Banjo-Kazooie'' series]]. She is co-stars in the [[Nintendo 64]] games ''[[Banjo-Kazooie]]'' and ''[[Banjo-Tooie]]'', as well as the [[Game Boy Advance]] title ''[[Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge]]''. Kazooie is also playable in ''[[Banjo-Pilot]]''.

Kazooie's name is derived from the musical instrument "kazoo."

It is unknown how Kazooie and Banjo met, but outside sources claim she was in Banjo's blue backpack when he found her.

In the intro of ''[[Banjo-Kazooie]]'', Banjo is shown playing the banjo and Kazooie is playing a kazoo with her beak.

During the plot, Kazooie joins Banjo on a journey to save his sister, [[Tooty]], from [[Gruntilda]] and [[Klungo]]. In the end, Kazooie and Banjo send Gruntilda crashing into the ground, where a giant [[Boulder (Banjo-Kazooie series)|boulder]] lands on top.  

===''Banjo-Tooie''===

In ''[[Banjo-Tooie]]'', two years after the events of ''Banjo-Kazooie'', Kazooie is seen playing poker with Banjo, [[Mumbo Jumbo]], and [[Bottles]]. Kazooie is seen cheating when she tricked Mumbo and Bottles by stating that Gruntilda was returning and took the opportunity to look at the other cards and take poker chips.

Unbeknown to the characters, Gruntilda is returning, having been freed from the rock by her two sisters, [[Blobbelda]] and [[Mingella]]. Kazooie joins Banjo on a journey to stop Grunty and her sisters from using [[B.O.B.]] to suck away living energy to give a new body to Gruntilda, who had rotted into skeletal form as a result of being trapped for so long.

Kazooie can now be separate from Banjo when using the [[Split-Up Pad]]. She can learn some of her own moves, such as [[Hatch]], which allows her to incubate large eggs.

==Personality==

Kazooie is known for her strong personality. She loves adventure and exploring new places, and being bored is what she hates the most. She has a strong sense of justice, so she tends to be level-headed in risky situations. Kazooie is somewhat arrogant and prejudiced and does not get along with many characters. Kazooie tends to use dark humor and say double entendres.

Kazooie is Banjo's adventure partner and lifelong best friend. They both share and live together in [[Banjo's House]]. It is implied that Banjo would be the one to welcome Kazooie into his home after meeting her, so Kazooie sleeps and lives in Banjo's backpack. There are moments that Kazooie and Banjo argue and her disagreements, but even so, Kazooie considers Banjo to be her best friend, with whom she has the most affection and respect toward. Unlike the other characters whom she has interacted with, Kazooie greatly enjoys venturing into danger with Banjo.

Kazooie is by far one of the characters whom Gruntilda has found the most detestable. Gruntilda is also often a target of jokes from Kazooie.

*In ''[[Conker's Bad Fur Day]]'', an umbrella with Kazooie's head appears in the menu selection.

*Kazooie appears alongside Banjo in a German ''[[Club Nintendo (German magazine)|Club Nintendo]]'' comic titled ''[[N-Gang]]''.

*Kazooie's species, a yellow-crested breegull, does not exist in real life, and it was merely a hybrid of different variations of real-life birds.

*In the video game ''[[Dream: Land of Giants]]'', Kazooie was supposed to act like a small bird found by [[Edson]]'s sister Ella.
