Delia Ketchum: Difference between revisions

In "[[Legend? Go! Friends? Go!]]," she decides to accompany Ash and Oak to the opening of the [[Cerise Lab]] out of the temptation to go to the beauty salons in [[Vermilion City]]. She invites Ash to the opening of the [[Cerise Lab]], run by her colleague [[Professor Cerise]] in [[Vermilion City]]. Eventually, Delia leaves Vermilion City when she learns that Ash has decided to become a research assistant at the Institute and leaves her Mr. Mime to keep a close eye on him.

In "[[Betrayed, Bothered, and Beleaguered!]]," when she visits a friend in [[Vermicious City]], she takes advantage of her trip to see her son at the Cerise Lab, where she decides to spend the night. There, she learns that [[Ash's Pikachu]] is jealous, and seeing him somewhat sad, she decides to rock him to sleep next to her. She then returns to Pallet Town and is followed by Pikachu and Mr. Mime, who, after a long journey, manage to reach her house.

Delia reappears in "[[Friends, Rivals, Lend Me Your Spirit!]]," where after watching the battle between his son and [[Paul]], he stops the former so he can spend the night at his home before leaving for the [[Eight Masters Tournament]], extending the invitation to Goh, who was also accompanying him; without a second thought, the boys accept. Later, Delia photographs her son with his current Pokémon and the ones he left at [[Professor Oak's Lab]].

In "[[Battling as Hard as Stone!]]," Delia can be seen watching from the laboratory, the broadcast of the battle between Ash and [[Steven Stone (anime)|Steven Stone]], the [[Pokémon Champion]] of the [[Hoenn]] region, in the quarterfinals of the [[Masters Eight Tournament]].

Delia is a very caring mother to her son, always watching over him and reminding him of the things he should and shouldn't do. She also constantly reminds Ash to change his underwear (referring to them as "the you-know-whats"), embarrassing the boy.

 

She is very talented, winning a beauty pageant and cooking a dish so popular that elite chefs on the [[Indigo Plateau]] asked her for the recipe. Nothing is known about Ash's father, but it is unclear if they are estranged, although she had contacted him at least once before Ash left.

In "[[It's Mr. Mime Time]]," Ash disguised himself as Mr. Mime. Ironically, a real Mr. Mime knocked on Delia's door asking for food. She thought it was Ash in disguise, pretending to be her son and treating him like he was hers. She didn't realize it until Ash returned home and saw them together. Eventually, Mr. Mime stayed with Delia, helping her with the housework. Starting in "[[Legend? Go! Friends? Go!]]," he stayed at the [[Cerise Lab]] with Ash. Later, in "[[Serving Up the Flute Cup!]]," he had his first official battle on Ash's team.
